From nanotechnology, the centerpiece of technological innovation, to robotics and rocketry
Mechanical systems engineering covers all industrial fields today. From nanotechnology(*1), which is attracting attention as the centerpiece of technological innovation, to robotics and rocketry, from the size of molecules to that of the universe, mechanical systems engineering is the foundation of all technical fields.
The Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering aims to train students to become specialists in the field of ”Monozukuri” (manufacturing) and to train creative and practical engineers who can actively participate in all fields of industry by studying design methods, material mechanics, thermal engineering, fluid engineering, control engineering, material science, processing science, information processing, mechatronics (*2).
(*1) Nanotechnology: Technology related to ultra-fine material structures and processing methods
(*2) Mechatronics: The field of study that integrates mechanical engineering and electronic engineering
